Taking Snapshots
To take a snapshot, compose your photo and click on the snapshot button on the menu bar along the bottom of your viewer or use the CTRL+S keyboard shortcut. You can send the resulting graphic to an e-mail address or save it to your computer free of charge. To save it to your SL inventory will cost you L$10.

Upload a snapshot (for L$10). Supported file formats are BMP, JPG, TGA, and PNG. To use the image as your profile picture, right click your avatar and select "My Profile." Then click the Edit Profile right beneath your Profile Picture. Once there, choose the Profile Picture option from the list. From there you can upload your selected screen picture. It must be either a JPG, PNG, or GIF under 5 MB. To change your picture simply revist the steps.

You can also add fun facts about yourself and your avatar for others to view on your profile. To do this simply click on the "Edit Profile" on the Profile menu. There are several options to chose from at this screen. You can add a biography for you and/or your avatar, what your interests are, display name, and more.
Adding Picks to Your Profile
Teleport to the location you want to add. Right-click your avatar and select My Profile. Click "Picks" at the top of the Profile window. To add your New Pick, click on "Create a pick". Select New Pick. A window will open for your new pick. To save it, click on the Save Pick button at the bottom of the My Profile / Edit Pick window.
To delete a Pick, right-click on your avatar and select My Profile. Click "Picks" at the top of the Profile window. Select the Pick you want to delete, then click on the Trash can icon in the lower right corner of the My Profile window. A little pop-up window will ask you to verify your command or cancel it.
Social Options for your Profile
Second life now allows you to add information like all of your social network accounts. Through your profile you can update your "Feed." You can share statuses, experiences, tricks, and more through your feed. Things you share will appear on your friends' feeds, and vice versa.
